One-Day Corporate Bus Driver Awareness Course

Practical one-day low-risk defensive driver training for professional bus drivers, combining human factors, vehicle dynamics, emergency braking and risk-management techniques at Roadcraft's purpose-built training facility.

Low-risk driver training for professional bus drivers.

Bus drivers operate large vehicles in demanding environments while carrying responsibility for passengers, other road users and the organisations they represent.

Roadcraft's One-Day Corporate Bus Driver Awareness Course is designed to help professional bus drivers examine established driving habits, better understand vehicle dynamics and develop practical low-risk techniques that can be applied to everyday passenger transport operations.

The course combines classroom education with practical exercises on Roadcraft's purpose-built private driver training facility near Gympie. Participants explore human factors, observation and vision, time and space management, vehicle positioning, braking performance, grip, emergency situations and strategies for recognising and managing risk before an incident develops.

Understanding the consequences of speed and vehicle mass.

A key component of the course is demonstrating how speed, reaction time and vehicle dynamics influence stopping distance and available safety margins.

Practical braking demonstrations and exercises allow participants to experience the relationship between speed, kinetic energy, braking systems and road conditions in a controlled environment.

Training includes emergency braking development, ABS appreciation, wet-surface braking and hazard-avoidance techniques, reinforcing the importance of early observation and appropriate decision-making.

Training that reflects professional driving.

Experienced professional drivers can accumulate thousands of kilometres behind the wheel while receiving relatively little formal low-risk driver training after licensing.

Roadcraft's approach is not intended to teach experienced bus drivers how to operate a vehicle. It provides an opportunity to examine established behaviours, reinforce sound techniques and better understand how driver decisions influence risk.

The aim is to develop safer, more aware, and more attentive professional drivers.

Tailored to your organisation.

The course can be tailored to reflect the operational requirements and identified risks of individual organisations.

Training is available for corporate groups and can be scheduled subject to availability at Roadcraft's Gympie facility.

A minimum booking of four participants applies.
