PMASUP236 – Operate vehicles in the field

Registered Training Organisation | RTO 41542
Nationally recognised training available in selected driving and towing units.
Two-day nationally recognised field vehicle training for employees operating in regional, remote and off-road environments, combining journey preparation, vehicle checks, 4WD operation, terrain assessment, recovery awareness and remote-area risk management.
Vehicle operation for field and remote environments.
PMASUP236 – Operate vehicles in the field is designed for people whose work requires them to prepare and operate vehicles across regional, remote or off-road environments.
The course goes beyond four-wheel drive technique alone.
Participants develop skills and knowledge relating to vehicle preparation, load security, journey planning, communications, vehicle operation, terrain assessment, field safety, post-operation checks and the broader considerations involved in travelling and working away from normal sealed-road environments.
Roadcraft's two-day delivery combines classroom education with extensive practical driving across our purpose-built road and 4WD training areas.
More than a 4WD course.
Field vehicle operation requires drivers to consider much more than the obstacle immediately in front of them.
Training addresses vehicle and equipment checks, load security, fuel and supplies, communications, navigation, operational requirements and preparing for journeys in regional and remote environments.
Practical training develops four-wheel drive control, emergency braking, terrain assessment, gear and range selection, steep ascent and descent techniques, water crossings, rugged terrain and on-road and off-road low-risk driving.
Participants also examine vehicle recovery principles, site restrictions, interaction with large vehicles, emergency considerations, post-operation inspections and reporting requirements.
Designed for operational environments.
PMASUP236 is particularly suited to organisations operating in industries where employees travel to remote facilities, worksites or field locations and need to manage both the driving task and the broader risks associated with operating away from established road networks.
Roadcraft can work with organisations to contextualise training to relevant operational environments while maintaining the requirements of the nationally recognised unit.
Nationally Recognised Training.
PMASUP236 – Operate vehicles in the field is a nationally recognised unit of competency.
Participants who successfully complete all required training and assessment will receive a Statement of Attainment issued by Roadcraft Driver Education, RTO 41542.
