Description

Roadcraft Educators are qualified to conduct Medical Driver Assessments, which assess whether an individual is ‘fit’ to drive. The assessment looks at a driver’s vision, ability to notice, process and react to hazards, their reaction times and general awareness when driving.

Assessments can be a mandatory requirement for obtaining or maintaining your licence to drive, or can be booked by any individual concerned about their own abilities or the abilities of a loved one on our roads.

Our dual-controlled vehicles ensure a safe experience for the assessor, assessee and others on the road.

  • Bookings essential – by phone
  • Assessments must be paid for in full before attending
  • All Roadcraft assessments have a lay-by system
  • EFTPOS & Credit Card facilities available

Assessment Elements

  • Effective manoeuvring and stopping of the vehicle
  • Awareness of other vehicles on the road
  • Awareness of and response to posted speed limits
  • Ability to maintain flow with traffic
  • Smooth and correct use of controls, indicators, brakes and mirrors
  • Adherence to road law
  • Geographic perspective
  • Mobility problems
  • Reaction to hazards – parked cars, pedestrians, oncoming and merging traffic
